Get ready for upcoming event
The social committee met for the first time in January. We will share more details once ideas have taken shape. But in the meantime we are starting with two events in March.
On 17th March we celebrate St Patrick’s day with discounted prices for Guinness, Jameson and Baileys Irish Cream. Then on 27th March we celebrate Mother’s day where mums can dust off their dancing shoes for a few hours of Motown music. Tickets are £2 for members and £5 for non-members – and you’ll get a complimentary glass of Prosecco for adults and a soft drink for children.
Salford Heart Care event:
St George’s day on 21st April sees the return to De La Salle of the Heart Foundation cabaret afternoon between 12.00 and 4.00. Tickets are £2.00 and can be purchased from Sue or Jim Collins or any Committee member. Please come along for a great afternoon’s fun, raffle and dancing. All money go to Motor Neurone charity and Salford Heart Care
Focus on football
Our football section will be hosting their long awaited 22nd Frank Buckley Tournament. This has been paused for the last two years due to COVID but will be back as successful as ever over the weekend of Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th June. The tournament is a pre-season tournament open to next years under 7’s through to under 12’s teams. De La Salle FC have hosted teams from as far as Benfleet in Essex before today and feedback is always positive. For more information and an application pack email tournament@dlsfc.co.uk
Doing our bit to save the environment:
We all hear lots about this in the news – but when it comes down to what we can do ourselves, that’s when it becomes more difficult. If you have any suggestions on how the club could become more environmentally friendly just email delasallesportssocial@gmail.com with your suggestions.

Sports opportunities
In the last edition we asked for budding snooker or pool players to step up to make a team. No takers at this stage but if there is any hidden talent out there and you are interested in testing your skills against others please express your interest now to delasallesportssocial@gmail.com. Or if you are interested in coaching some of our younger members as part of an organised coaching session, let us know
Sad news
Sadly, some special members passed away recently. We send heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Anne McPherson, Christine Pollard, Keith Lawson and Stan Wroe.
Bar prices
And finally just a heads up that you will see some prices increases very soon. As our suppliers increase their prices we need to increase ours. Be assured though that our prices remain great value
